It is well known that supply chain management is an integral part of modern businesses and is essential to company success and customer satisfaction. Mastering a good supply chain management skill will help boost customer service, reduce operating costs, and improve financial position.

The MSc in International Business (Supply Chain Management) is a specialist Masters program, jointly provided by the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (NISCI).

The master program aims to provide an advanced teaching and learning program that facilitates progressive learning towards the frontiers of knowledge in the planning and management of supply chain operations.

Students study in Ningbo as well as having the opportunity to spend 3 weeks at MIT in the USA.Graduates will be awarded the degree of MSc International Business (Supply Chain Management) from the University of Nottingham (UK) as well a Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate, awarded by the MIT Global SCALE Network.

Ÿ   The program is jointly delivery by the University of Nottingham Ningbo China(UNNC) and Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (NISCI) as part of the MIT Global SCALE Network

Ÿ   Graduates will be awarded a degree of MSc International Business (Supply Chain Management) from the University of Nottingham, UK, along with an MIT SCALE graduate certificate

Ÿ   Students would have opportunity to visit MIT USA for 3-week study with participants from all SCALE Programs (Spain, Malaysia, Luxembourg, China, Latin America and the US) to engage in seminars, workshops, competitions, and attend industry tours

The program is intended to

Ÿ   Provide a conceptual and theoretical grounding in current concepts and techniques of supply chain management and associated areas;

Ÿ   Provide an understanding of advanced applications of supply chain management to business;

Ÿ   Develop an understanding of the importance and impact of efficient and effective operations to business success and the global economy;

Ÿ   Provide an appreciation of the application of important techniques in Operations Research and management science, which support supply chain management practice;

Ÿ   Provide a range of practical techniques for the effective management of business operations;

Ÿ   Develop key cognitive, problem solving, qualitative, quantitative, computing, interpersonal, group working and research skills;

Ÿ   Prepare students for positions in supply chain management and equip them with the capacity for life-long learning in the global business environment.

Graduates of the program will have gained relevant knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of Supply Chain Management in the following core areas

Ÿ   The development of appropriate operations strategies to meet stakeholder needs within a changing business environment;

Ÿ   Location, planning, and layout of facilities, issues of outsourcing and global operations;

Ÿ   Logistics and supply chain management, including operations in the extended and virtual enterprise;

Ÿ   Planning, forecasting, and scheduling for manufacturing and service operations together with associated quantitative techniques;

Ÿ   Inventory and materials management, together with associated quantitative techniques;

Ÿ   The management of manufacturing and service quality, together with associated statistical and quantitative techniques;

Ÿ   The development, management and exploitation of information systems and their impact upon business operations, including knowledge management.

Although the entry requirements vary depending on the course, as a general rule, you are expected to hold an honors degree at 2:1 level or above (or international equivalent) in business, management, engineering or science-related discipline.

English Language Requirements

Ÿ   IELTS 6.5 no less than 6.0 in any element

Ÿ   PTE Academic 62 (minimum 55)

Ÿ   TOEFL IBT 87 (minimum 20 in speaking and 19 in all other elements)

Ÿ   Comprises the tuition fee of 75, 000 RMB, charged by the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and a training fee of 75, 000 RMB, charged by Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation

Ÿ   Students are responsible for air ticket, accommodation, food and related expenses for the 3-week study at MIT.

1. What is the primary language of the MSNN program?

MSNN is a full-English master’s program. All textbooks, cases, software, assignments, and reading materials are in English. All instructors deliver courses in English.

2. Who are the instructors at MSNN program?

Faculties from UNNC and NISCI will jointly deliver classes. In addition, faculty members from MIT Global SCALE/MIT CTL may also deliver classes.

3. Will MSNN students have the opportunity to study at the MIT Cambridge campus?

Yes, in January during the one-year study, MSNN students will travel to MIT’s main campus to participate in the MIT SCALE Connect. SCALE Connect brings students from all six global SCALE centers together in Cambridge for three intense weeks of workshops, seminars, industry speakers, facility tours, and team-based work. The intense schedule wraps up with Research Expo, where students present their work to date on industry-sponsored research projects aimed at addressing real-world problems. This unique opportunity to work and learn with fellow supply chain and logistics students from all over the world is something only MIT-SCALE master's and graduate certificate programs offer.

4. Does MSNN program offers career development services?

Yes.
