Qualifications:
Essential • A PhD in one of the following or related majors: transportation, logistics, supply chain management, management science and engineering, operations research, business analysis, operations research management. • Experience in analytical methods (especially deterministic and/or stochastic optimization and algorithm development/implementation). • In depth knowledge and mature skills in logistics, supply chain management or academic and applied research on related topics. • For consideration at the level of Research-track Assistant/Associate Professor, candidates must have published in international journals and lead/participated in the acquisition of external funding.
Research Direction • (multimodal transport) cargo transport. • Loading space optimization and loading process design. • Fully optimize the logistics system (such as warehousing, trunk logistics, etc.).
Desirable • Industry project experience. • Experience in (multimodal) transport and packaging issues. • Be familiar with further analysis methods (such as simulation). • Familiar with empirical methods (such as statistics, econometrics and machine learning).
Main Duty and Responsibilities:
• Conduct guided and independent research on transportation and logistics at the TDH laboratory and CIMC Freight Laboratory (incl. collaboration with researchers in MIT Global SCALE Network) • Publish in international journals • Write research proposals • Meet with project sponsors • Support outreach activities • Any other (incl. administrative) duties that may reasonably be assigned by the supervising faculty member.
