Qualifications:
Essential • A PhD in transportation, logistics, management sciences, operations research, business analytics, engineering, or a related discipline. • In-depth knowledge and proven skills of academic and applied research in transportation, logistics, or related topics. • Demonstrated ability to teach at master’s level in statistics, operations research, data analytics, or transportation/logistics. • For consideration at the Research-track Assistant Professor level, candidates must have published in international journals and participated in the acquisition of external funding.
Research Direction • Overall optimization of warehouse and trunk logistics and distribution.
Desirable • Familiarity with analytical methods (e.g., develop algorithms & heuristics and use software for optimization/simulation) • Familiarity with empirical methods (e.g., statistics/econometrics/machine learning) • Teaching experience • Experience with industry problems
Main Duty and Responsibilities:
• Conducting guided and independent research on transportation and logistics in the TDH lab (incl. collaboration with researchers in MIT Global SCALE Network) • Publish in leading international journals • Writing research proposals • Meeting with project sponsors • Support outreach activities • Teaching short courses • Any other (incl. administrative) duties that may reasonably be assigned by the supervising faculty member.
