Qualifications:

Essential
• A PhD (candidates or about to graduate) in transportation, logistics, management sciences, operations research, aviation, economics, engineering, or a related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge and proven skills of academic and applied research in air transport.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at master’s level in statistics, operations research, data analytics, or transportation.
• For consideration at the level of Research-track Assistant/Associate Professor, candidates must have published in international journals and participated in the acquisition of external funding.

Desirable • Familiarity with analytical methods (e.g., develop algorithms & heuristics and use software for optimization/simulation)
• Familiarity with empirical methods (e.g., statistics/econometrics/machine learning/case study)
• Teaching experience
• Experience with industry problems or governmental projects
• Experience with organizing industry workshops

Main Duty and Responsibilities:

• Conduct guided and independent research on air transport (incl. collaboration with researchers in MIT Global SCALE Network)
• Publish in leading international journals
• Write research proposals
• Meet with project sponsors
• Support outreach activities
• Teach short courses
• Any other (incl. administrative) duties that may reasonably be assigned by the supervising faculty member.
